Within the North Sea energy industry, a transition is slowly taking place. From a purely extractive industry, a journey towards net zero is gradually getting underway.

Simultaneously, onshore renewable energy production is increasing, turning Scottish moorland, traditionally thought of as being natural and wild, into a space increasingly inhabited by wind turbines.

Featuring contributions from renewable developers, industry stakeholders, activists and academics within the field of renewable production, this film explores the shared challenges and difficulties faced by the industry as it moves towards the Scottish Government’s ambitious targets for net zero and renewable energy production.

The film was first presentated at the Energy Ethics: Financing the Future conference at St Andrews University and has since gone on to be shown at film festivals including the Rayany Creators Film Festival in Aberdeen where it was nominated for best cinematography and was awarded best documentary.
