What Our Winter Feels Like was a short form video work shown on the Stepping in Screen at Aberdeen Music Hall.
During December of 2022, the Stepping In Screen in the entrance foyer of the Aberdeen Music Hall showcased the work of a number of artists and designers from Aberdeen city and surrounding Aberdeenshire.
The exhibition, What Our Winter Feels Like concisted of a series of short form video works and was curated by the Aberdeen based design studio Design and Code in partnership with New Media Scotland. The diverse group of artists produced their works in response to the question, “what does winter feels like to you?” with the resulting works including photography, painting, animation, and video.
My contribution to the exhibition, also titled What Our Winter Feels Like was inspired by the delicate golden quality of light the winter sun provides when low in the sky and shining over frozen ground.
Concisting of a gently shifting layered mix of landscapes and images of ice forming, these images blended together to create a moving golden ice blue tinged abstraction.
